JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Toteline Operator
NAME OF EMPLOYEE:
MAIN FUNCTIONS: The Toteline Operator is responsible for packing the domestic and export flours and
other products to the most accurate weight and according to all the manufacturing procedures. Reporting to
the Packaging Lead, the Packaging Operator is primarily responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of
assigned production equipment and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for using the right type of packaging materials.
Responsible for making sure that the tote tag information on the bags is accurate.
Responsible for meeting production targets.
Communicate well with other coworkers, leads and supervisor.
Responsible for visually inspecting the product and communicate any inconsistencies to the
supervisor.
Stop/start or reset machines when malfunctions occur and report malfunctions to a
supervisor.
Perform product and packaging change overs.
Takes samples and records identifying lot number for laboratory information.
Complete magnet checks and log as required.
Safely operates forklifts as needed to keep assigned work area supplied with necessary
production materials.
Ensures compliance with UCP safety standards and with applicable regulatory
requirements while following the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices.
Responsible for good housekeeping practices in the plant.
Perform work safely.
Completion of Qualification Card/s for designated area and/or other job position/s that may be assigned.
Uphold a quality-conscious and food-safe culture.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Ensure all pallets and supplies are secure prior to any container/trailer leaving the loading
dock.

Job Expertise- Demonstrates knowledge of and experience with applicable professional/technical
principles and practices. Strong leadership skills as well as the ability and drive to design and
implement processes and improve efficiencies/costs is an asset.
Communication Skills- Effectively conveys information and expresses thoughts and facts clearly,
orally and in writing, demonstrates effective use of listening skills, openness to other people’s
ideas and thoughts.
Computer Skills-Experience common business computer applications including but not limited to:
MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
Teamwork- Develops effective relationships with co-workers and supervisors by helping others
accomplish tasks and using collaboration and conflict resolution skills.
Decision Making- Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities; uses effective
approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions.

WORK ENVIROMENT:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often with limited supervision.
Must be competent to operate all required, light equipment for UCP.
Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, you will be walking, standing and
engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift
items weighing up to 50 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and nonroutine),
certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head,
standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy
machinery. Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED.
Basic mathematical calculation skills.
Ability to read, write and interpret documents.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often with limited supervision.
Must be able to reach and use hands and arms and fingers regularly.
Must be able to bend/twist/push and climb regularly.
Must be able to work any day and/or shift including weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work independently and/or as part of a team.
Have the ability to perform all above tasks in an environment in cold or hot temperatures.
